Founded in 1831, the town of Greenville, South Carolina has been growing like a weed ever since. The current population of the Greenville metro area today tops over 600,000 people who, if you were to ask them, wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. The city of Greenville is tucked away in the northwestern corner of South Carolina, almost in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. Greenville was once known as the textile capital of the world as the economy was based almost completely on the local textile factories, but today, Greenville boasts a diverse economy that still includes textile manufacturing, but also includes the world headquarters of Michelin tires and is also the only spot outside of Germany where BMW automobiles are manufactured. It is no wonder then that Greenville has become such a popular spot to call home for so many folks!

There is plenty to do in Greenville, but the biggest attraction here is the surrounding mountains and the abundant wildlife that calls it home. It may be a bit of an exaggeration to say that everyone in Greenville embraces the outdoors, but most folks do. Hiking, biking, hunting, fishing and nature walks are a major part of most residents recreation time here. Even if you only hunt with a camera, Greenville is definitely a great place to get out and see the surrounding area. Greenville is also home to many minor league sports teams, including a minor league baseball team of the Boston Red Sox that today play in a beautiful new downtown stadium. The city also boasts a rugby union team as well as the home of Furman University, a powerhouse in NCAA Division 1-AA football.

Greenville is probably best known for its beautiful natural surroundings. Tucked away in the Appalachian Mountains, Greenville is one of those cities that you don’t think much about until you visit it for the first time and you realize what a beautiful spot it really is. When you combine the amazingly nice people, the reasonable cost of living and the limitless natural beauty, you can understand why there is a run on Greenville apartments!
