The Queen City of Cincinnati is located in the southwest corner of the state of Ohio, right on the Kentucky border. The city was founded in 1788 and became one of the very first boomtowns in American history. Cincinnati actually owns the title of being the United State’s very first completely inland city. Much like its sister cities of Youngstown, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Cincinnati went through a slow economic period as the steel industry that had powered it for so long dried up, but just like those other cities, Cincinnati has reinvented itself over the last 30 years and is now a center for technology, commerce and banking. A Cincinnati apartment is just about even with the national average as far as price goes, so you don’t have to bankrupt yourself to enjoy this great city.
While there are many tourist attractions in this great city, two of the most prominent are the two brand new stadiums that have recently been constructed here. The first, known as the Great American Ballpark is the home of Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds. It is thought to be one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country. Right next door to the new baseball stadium is the brand new football stadium that is home to the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. But you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy Cincinnati. The city has a million things to do outdoors including hiking, biking and enjoying the temperate climate that Cincinnati enjoys most of the year.
Perhaps Cincinnati’s best feature is the abnormally large number of major Fortune 500 corporations that call this relatively small city home. Companies like Procter & Gamble, Macy’s and the Chiquita Banana company all call Cincinnati home. This means a higher standard of living, higher paying jobs and a generally better place to live than similar cities of the same size throughout the country. Fortunately, the cost of living here isn’t unfairly high.
In general, a studio apartment in the city of Cincinnati will run you between $400-$550 per month. If you’re looking for a one bedroom Cincinnati apartment, you can expect to pay $600-$750 and a larger two bedroom unit will go for $750-$900. If you’re looking for a super-sized apartment, you can expect to pay approximately $1000-$1200. It makes perfect sense then when you consider the high quality of living and the low cost of rent that Cincinnati is one of the fastest growing spots in all of the country. |
