Rochester - A Great Place to Live
Rochester is located in southeast Minnesota and has a population of 97,191, which makes it the third-largest city in Minnesota. It was founded in 1854 by George Head, and officially named the county seat of Olmstead in 1857. In 1883, a tornado demolished much of Rochester, leaving 37 dead and several thousand wounded. Dr. William Mayo helped raise over $60,000 to help build the St. Marys Hospital in 1889.
