Located in eastern central Kentucky, Bowling Green is the fourth-most populated city in Kentucky with a population of 53,112. It was founded in 1798 after Robert and George Monroe donated 30-40 acres to the Warren County trustees. In 2003, Bowling Green and its surrounding areas were finally recognized as a metropolitan area.
