When most people think about moving to sunny and beautiful Florida, two spots tend to stick out in their minds. First, family friendly Orlando and all of the theme park fun is the first, and Miami and the endless beaches there is second. But a third option is figuring more prominently in people’s minds: Tampa! Located on Florida’s beautiful gulf coast, the Tampa Bay area has some of the most perfect beaches you’ll find anywhere. Water temperatures on the gulf side of the state tend to be quite a bit warmer than the Atlantic side, which means swimming and water fun year round. Founded in the early 1800’s, Tampa’s history actually goes back much farther and is much more colorful than most people imagine. For generations, Tampa was a hiding spot for bands of pirates who pillaged and roamed the Gulf and the Atlantic. This is why the local football team is called the Buccaneers and why in Tampa’s old town, Ybor City, you can learn all about Tampa’s colorful past. A Tampa apartment is a great way to quickly move in and start exploring this wonderful city.

No exploration of Tampa is complete without mentioning the wonderful beaches here. The phrase “sugar sand” is often used to describe the amazingly soft sand that is found on many of the gulf beaches, from Mobile in Alabama, all the way down to Ft. Myers and Naples in South Florida. Tampa even sports a few beaches that are considered to be the best in the world. Tampa’s old district, Ybor City, is now a nightlife and entertainment district, and many of the old cigar rolling buildings are being restored so that this great town can honor its past.

As is the case with most of Florida, the best part of living in Tampa is the weather. Year round sun and year round warm temperatures are a way of life here. While the rest of the country is digging out from under the latest snow storm, you’ll be sunning yourself on the beach. The only negative about the weather here is that the Tampa area is often plagued by thunderstorms during the summer months. It is why the local NHL team is called the Tampa Bay Lightning.

If you would like to rent a studio Tampa apartment, you can expect to pay $505-$600 per month. If you are interested in a one bedroom Tampa apartment, you can expect to pay $650-$900 per month or more if you want a beautiful ocean view. A two bedroom Tampa apartment will generally run you $1050-$1500 on average and a larger three bedroom Tampa apartment will cost you $1200 to start.
