When most folks think of living in beautiful California, images of sandy Los Angeles beaches or strolls down hilly streets in San Francisco come to mind. But California has more than their fair share of beautiful inland cities, too. The state capital, Sacramento, is one of the most popular inland cities, and one of the most beautiful. Founded in the mid 1800’s as a gold rush town, the city of Sacramento seemed like a good spot for the capital due to its central location. It wasn’t until 1855 that Sacramento became the capital, and it has been a favorite spot of many Californians ever since. Located just to the north and east of the Bay Area, the cost of living in Sacramento is much more reasonable than its more expensive neighbor, and that feature alone has made this town a popular spot. Renting a Sacramento apartment is a wonderful way to get to know this great city.
There are many wonderful things to do in Sacramento. Sacramento is one of the most unlikely towns to host a professional sports franchise, the Sacramento Kings of the NBA. The nearby Bay Area is home to many more pro sports teams but the Kings are the only one to make a home here in Sacramento. There is also a large theatre district in Sacramento. Many theatres, both small and large, dot the landscape here. There is also a strong visual arts community here that is governed by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. Sacramento is also home to the AAA affiliate of the nearby Oakland Athletics, the Sacramento Rivercats. The team plays in what is considered to be one of the most beautiful minor league ball parks in the country. The Rivercats routinely lead all of minor league baseball in attendance.
Perhaps the best feature of living in Sacramento is the fact that you get to live in beautiful California but the cost of living here is quite low. Compared to the Bay Area, the cost of living in a Sacramento apartment is actually extremely low, and not much more expensive than the cost of living in other parts of the country. Since the California wine country and the Bay Area are only short drives away, living in Sacramento really makes sense!
If you are interested in a studio Sacramento apartment, you can expect to pay $600-$800 per month. A one bedroom Sacramento apartment usually goes for $750-$1000 per month, while a two bedroom Sacramento apartment will generally go for $900 or $1000 to start with. Finally, a three bedroom or larger Sacramento apartment will cost $1200 to start. As you can see, compared with other parts of California, living in Sacramento is not only a good choice, but an affordable one, too! |
