While it is impossible to make vast generalizations about the “best” place to live in the United States, poll after poll has showed the Bay Area of California to be at or near the top of almost every list measuring how happy folks are with where they live. The biggest obstacle here, of course, is the price tag attached to living in such a beautiful spot. That’s why cities like Mountain View, California are so important. No one would consider Mountain View a cheap place to live, but it is quite a bit less per month than living in downtown San Francisco. Founded in the early 1900’s, the two was originally a private piece of land that was split into two pieces, with one side becoming Mountain View. Today, Mountain View is an exclusive address in the Bay Area and one of the most beautiful spots in California. The cost of living here is extraordinarily high, so expect to pay more here for a Mountain View apartment than you would in most areas.

It would be almost impossible to list all of the attractions in the Mountain View area, but needless to say, there are plenty! The Bay Area not only has the best in arts, theatre, music and sports, but it is also known for having excellent paying jobs, the most beautiful land anywhere and the nicest and most accepting people anywhere on the planet. Sound like a nice combination to you? There are things like traffic congestion and crazy weather that you have to deal with here, but let’s be honest, pretty much every city on earth has those problems, too. If you can afford to live in Mountain View, there really isn’t any reason not to. It really is that nice.

It can be tough to pinpoint one factor above all else that makes living in Mountain View special, but the attitude and accepting nature of the residents here is probably it. The large gay and lesbian population in the Bay Area has made this one of the most welcoming and least judgmental places on earth. You are likely to pass a man in an Armani suit and then a hippie in a tie-dye shirt. The Bay Area is truly a unique environment that makes living in Mountain View special.

If you’re in the market for a studio Mountain View apartment, you can expect to pay upwards of $1100-$1300 per month in rent. If you need a one bedroom Mountain View apartment, you can expect to pay $1350-$1600 per month. A two bedroom Mountain View apartment will run you $1700-$2000 a month, and a larger Mountain View apartment will start at $2200 and go up from there.
