Located to the south east of Phoenix, the city of Tucson is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful spots in the country. The city is actually closer to the Mexican border (only 60 miles) than it is to Phoenix, and it is home to the University of Arizona, one of the largest state schools in the country. Founded by missionaries around the year 1700, Tucson was actually Mexican property for many years until the United States took it over in 1853. Today, Tucson is both a vibrant college town with a youthful and energetic population and a growing city that is becoming almost as popular as Phoenix. Renting out a Tucson apartment is a wonderful way to get to know this great town.

While the weather and the beautiful landscape bring thousands of tourists to Tucson every year, the biggest attraction here in the University of Arizona. The campus takes up a large section of the town and during sporting events, most of the population can be found cheering on the Wildcats. The Wildcats are most definitely a basketball school, with head coach Lute Olsen having led the team to several national championships, but the football team here has also garnered national attention on more than one occasion. The Tucson area is also host to several popular festivals throughout the year. The annual Gem and Mineral show is a favorite here. Held during the month of February, the show draws people from all over the country and pumps millions into the local economy. The annual rodeo is another hit that helps to make Tucson what it is.

The best part about living here in Tucson is the surrounding land and weather. Very few spots on the map make you gasp every morning when you open your blinds like Tucson does.
