Every year, people make compromises about where they live. They live in a rural area when they wish they could live in a city or they live in a dirty, old city when they wish they could live in a nicer one. Then there are the residents of Tempe, Arizona. This city, right next to Phoenix, is one of the newest, cleanest and warmest places in the country that you could call home. Imagine waking up every day and seeing sun beating through your windows. Or waking up every day and having a nice warm breeze passing through your home. That’s living in Tempe and it is why the population here is growing by leaps and bounds. Founded in the 1860’s and incorporated in 1894, Tempe has quickly become one of the most popular areas around Phoenix to live. Arizona State University played their home games in Tempe until very recently and much of the population here is still very loyal to the Sun Devils. Renting a Tempe apartment is a quick and easy way to scout out this amazing place.
While most people will point to the weather here as the main reason they moved here, there are plenty of things to do here, as well. Sports fans consider the Phoenix-Tempe area to be where the action is. The city plays host to all four major sports and even has a Bowl Championship Series game played here every year. Even the national championship college football game is played right here in town every few years. The local baseball team, The Arizona Diamondbacks, is one of the best franchises in baseball and the up and coming Cardinals (football) and Coyotes (hockey) are also popular here. The Tempe area is also a wonderful spot for outdoor fun, although folks need to make sure they always have enough water on them for hiking trips.
As beautiful as the land here is, the big seller in Tempe is the weather. It can get a little overheated in the summer time but for the rest of the year, the temps here are great. It does get a little colder here in the winter (average January low is 40) than most people think, but winter highs hover around 68-72, which is perfect when the rest of the country is freezing during the latest snowstorm.
